This project is a MapSource map of searchable towns and cities that can be used in conjunction with Tracks4Australia, or on it's own.
This product "AUSPOI" incorporates Data which is © Commonwealth of Australia 2006. The Data has been used in "AUSPOI" with the permission of the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth has not evaluated the Data as altered and incorporated within "AUSPOI", and therefore gives no warranty regarding its accuracy, completeness, currency or suitability for any particular purpose.
Tracks4Australia is available from http://www.gpsoz.com.au/tracks4australia/ and has an active Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tracks4australia/
Instructions (assuming you already have Tracks4Australia installed):
- Download and unzip AusPOI - run the "AUSPOI_Setup.exe" file to install the map and integrate it into MapSource.
- Start MapSource
- Select AusPOI from the dropdown product selection menu in MapSource
- Use the Map Selection tool to select the one map tile available in the AusPOI product
- Select the Tracks4Australia from the drop down product selection menu in MapSource
- Select the map tiles you want and then upload to your Garmin GPS
The towns and cities are searchable on your GPS now :-) NB some models you will have to use the select map menu once you are in the find menu. See your GPS manual for details.
